Edmondscote and Bills Barn are ideally located for all the best that Cornwall has to offer. The fantastic sandy beach at Perranporth, probably one of the best beaches in Cornwall, is less than a mile away and numerous other famous beaches, including Fistral at Newquay are within a 15 minute drive.
Perranporth is a traditional seaside town with many shops, galleries, restaurants and other facilities. It is well known for the wide sandy beach which is featured on TV's 'Beach Rescue'. There is a pretty footpath which will take you straight down to the beach in about 15 minutes. Perranporth has much to offer both families and couples. As previously mentioned, there is a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, mixed with art galleries and craft shops. The restaurants are many and varied and include Chinese, Indian, Italian plus good old fish and chips! All go highly recommended.
Surfing in Cornwall is part of the culture here in the County and Perranporth has to be one of the best in the County and in Europe for the sport and also for the high adrenaline sport of Kite Surfing. The town therefore has a great range of surf shops where you can hire the equipment and even take some surf lessons.
For the sporty, Perranporth has a fantastic golf course situated in the dunes, high above the beach and also has tennis courts with a sports centre planned for the near future.
Bolingey itself has a lovely old pub which serves excellent food and is an easy level walk from the cottage. Edmondscote and Bills Barn are also very well placed for exploring Cornwall, it is only a 15 minute drive from Newquay airport. The Eden Project and the Maritime Museum at Falmouth are a short drive away. Many fantastic walks are easily accessible, including the South West Coastal Path.
